A makeup dupe is a less expensive cosmetic that has a similar appearance to one from a more expensive brand. Due to their popularity on the app Tik-Tok, makeup dupes have been growing in popularity recently. Charlotte Tilbury has recently become one of the most well-liked makeup companies, although it is very pricey. Recently, elf released some products that are obvious knockoffs of this brand, and they quickly gained popularity. I believe the true reason people keep buying these things is that once a product gets viral or becomes a must-have, millions of people make it a goal to get their hands on it one way or another. It is debatable whether these products are really as good or better than one or the other. Because keeping up with trends can be expensive, people frequently look for less expensive, similar substitutes, also known as “dupes”.
