According to ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates, the wide receiver Tyler Lockett’s contract with the Seattle Seahawks was restructured on Thursday. According to a source, the Seahawks have restructured WR Tyler Lockett’s contract by turning $8.535 million of his base salary into a signing bonus, freeing up $5.69 million in cap space. Eight seasons have passed since Tyler Lockett, a former third-round pick out of Kansas State, was chosen by the Seahawks with the 69th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. During his NFL career, he amassed 7,100 receiving yards and 54 receiving touchdowns, reaching a high of 1,175 yards in the 2021 season. In 16 games that he played and started, Tyler Lockett finished the 2022 season with 1,033 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns. In a 27-23 victory over the Los Angeles Rams in December, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns at SoFi Stadium. He hauled in as many as 128 yards during that game.
