The Los Angeles Dodgers for the 10th time in 11 years have clinched the first place spot in the NL West. This year came as a surprise as the Dodgers lost a lot of talent and had some people on the IL. But with the help of some newly signed vets with David Peralta, Jason Hayward, Miguel Rojas, and some traded for in, Kike Hernandez, Ryan Braiser, Ryan Yarborough, Lance Lynn, and Amed Rosario.
The Padres were projected to own the NL West as the San Francisco Giants weren’t looking good and Dodgers were looked at to slow down. The Padres acquired star outfielder Juan Soto, star shortstop Xander Bogaerts, and star closing pitcher Josh Hader. Their star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr was coming back from his suspension for PED use. The Padres did really the opposite of what projected and came 4th behind the Giants, Diamondbacks, and Dodgers.
The Diamondbacks and Giants both out performed any expectations on the year by a lot. Both teams weren’t expected to be any where near Padres or Dodgers numbers. As the year went on they both slowed down but early both teams had periods of amazing games everyday.
