Last week in Cambria a $5 million dollar lottery ticket was sold at Cambria General Store, owned by Elia Akkary. The lucky win was purchased on August 9th.
Akkary had only become the owner 8 days before the win. “I’m so happy we could change someone’s life.” Akkary says.
The identity of the winner has not been revealed yet, many costumes have come into the store in hopes they would win the jackpot as well. Akkary says over $6,000 dollars worth of winning tickets has been sold in the last month.
This article piqued my interest because my mom buys lottery tickets a lot, every time we go to a gas station she buys one, hoping she will win. It’s crazy to see someone become a millionaire in a single day. I wanna be a millionaire one day, I think everyone does. I don’t think I’ll purchase any tickets anytime soon but it does seem interesting.
