I know, this is a strange topic. For starters, I would like to talk about my history with piercings. I have a total of 7 piercings and absolutely love all of them, even though they have a tendency to hurt. Depending on if your body if compatible with the piercing of your choice, they are a great cosmetic addition to have. As a child, I was horrified to get my ears pierced. I never got them done for that reason, maybe up until I was 10 or 11. But when I got them done? I didn’t regret them. From there, I eventually went and got my 2nd earlobe piercing done, the one that sits right above the first piercing. Then fast forward last year, I got my nose pierced, which did hurt quite a lot. The tightness of it and accidentally hitting it on something would make me want it gone, but I still kept it in anyway. Now? My nose is fully healed and extremely happy. As for this past June, I got my helix on both ears done. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, even though it takes a long time to heal. I would be super careful with them, especially since they can be extremely sensitive.
Why could they be beneficial you? Well, let’s see. Like I mentioned earlier, they could be a great cosmetic addition to you. They may also make you feel unique or better about yourself, which is how mine have helped me. In June of this year, I was dealing with a lot of personal problems. So I decided to get my helixes done and it was a great decision. It took that stress off my mind and caved it in with taking care of piercings. In a way, they also helped me boost my self-confidence.
About the pain level? I would think that for a short term healing process, my nose piercing hurt the most. As for my long term healing process? My helixes hurt the most. Both our nose and along our ear are pieces of cartilage, which heal the slowest. There is no central blood flow through them, which is why it takes the piercings longer to heal.
Either way, I would try and get a piercing if you have’t already. Of course with the consent of your parents, you could change your perspective on yourself and even how you see yourself.
