I’ll be honest, I’m not very good with my hands… like at all. Anything that challenges me to think is way more satisfying/entertaining to me. But lately? I’ve decided to take on a new project that’s really been beneficial for me, giving me the stimulation that I’ve been needing. So about a month ago, I ordered these Christmas Hello Kitty pants off of Amazon… I ordered an XXL. They came and to my surprise? They were an XXL in CHILD’S sizes. I don’t think I could’ve been anymore disappointed than when the pants had come.
So what did I do? I ordered a second pair. They were cheap, which made me even more motivated to buy a second pair. And what did I do? I started cutting them and taking them apart, in order to upsize them. I started by cutting along the front seams and inner seams of the pants, measuring myself in between in order to get the right size of fabric so the pants will fit. From there, I began hand sewing it together to make it fit. I would also try them on to make sure, which really benefited me.
Why did I talk about this? Because I’ve realized that sewing has actually helped me become entertained. Fed that new challenge that I had needed.
