About over a month ago, my family and I wanted to get a new pet to welcome into our home. We thought about maybe another bird, leopard gecko… but then we saw a craigslist ad for a bearded dragon. They were selling the bearded dragon and his terrarium for $250 total. We’ve always wanted a bearded dragon, so it felt like a dream to have this ad pop up. My mom had contacted the seller and scheduled a time to go to their house and see him in person. And that Friday, we got to see him. He was very well-mannered and also well fed, he had a great family that he was coming from.
My mom, my brother and I all fell in love with him. The family had even allowed us to hold him, to which I laid him on my chest and let him fall asleep.
“What’s his name?” “Oh, his name is Bolt.” “Why did you guys name him Bolt?” “Well, he has a tendency to ‘bolt’ away when he’s set on a couch or even the floor, he’s a fast mover.”
And guess what? Now the month and a half later, he’s now our baby boy. We decided to keep his name the same, especially since we’ve noticed that he actually knows his name. Even though the nickname I gave him is “fat boy”. We now have cricket keepers since you have to feed bearded dragons live critters, such as mealworms, crickets, horned worms, and more. It’s cute because he’ll run around and chase them, sort of like a game so that he can get his food. Also, he doesn’t bite. He’s a very sweet boy, and more likely want to lay and sleep on you than wanting to bite you.
