This past week were the 66th annual Grammy awards. There were many amazing music artists in attendance and many of them were nominated for a grammy in the wide variety of categories. Lana Del Rey, an American emotional pop artist has been nominated for 11 Grammys but has yet to win any. Lana has been a mainstream artist for over 10 years when her debut album titled, “Lana Del Rey” came out in 2010. Since then, Lana has sold over 41 million albums worldwide and has made over 58 billion streams throughout the world. Of the 2010s Billboard ranked her 37th rock artist in the world. One of her most popular albums “Lust for Life” that was released in 2017 was Lana’s second album that had become number-one on Billboard 200.
In this year’s 2024 Grammys Lana was nominated for 5 awards including the top two categories album and record of the year. She won none of them. Lana Del Rey is not the first very popular, mainstream artist that has yet to win any Grammys for her outstanding work in music. Some other amazing artists that have yet to win a grammy for their amazing work include, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, Diana Ross, Queen, The Beach Boys, ABBA, and many more. The Grammys are starting to be taken less and less seriously every year due to the amount of very famous and popular artists who get robbed of an award every year.
