CommUnify’s Energy Resource Program has hosted its second ever 2-1-1 Community Day Celebration on the 10th! The gathering meant to provide people with recourses along the Central coast took place at the Miami Community Center. An estimated amount of above 1,400 people came, over 60 organizations from Santa Barbra and San Luis Obispo partied to help the community.
Resources such as childcare, food, energy assistance, help for veterans and seniors, and school supplies were offered. 2-1-1 is a program created by the communication division of the federal government. CommUnify has been running Santa Barbara’s 2-11 for over 10 years now.
You are able to call 2-1-1 to learn about about low-cost resources. The line has over 150 languages they are able to translate live on call. They are able to transfer you to a place that can help you with your problem.
