Kittie is a Canadian band that is heavy metal from London, Ontario. It was formed in 1996. By their own guitarist, Fallon Bowman. Also, sisters Mercedes and Morgan Lander, on vocals/guitars and drums. Tanya Candler completed the bands line up. Kittie was chosen as their name because, “It was seen as contradictory.” Their debut album named “Spit” came out in 1999. They had sold about 600,000 copies. They were certified gold on the RIAA.
There other albums titled “Oracle” (2001), and “Until the End” (2004). They had seen a change in Kittie’s music, more of an aggressive and heavier sounding band. Kittie had created their own entire label after leaving Artemis. The label is called “X of Infamy”, they then released their fourth album “Funeral for Yesterday.” I think their music is really inspiring, coming from a band who is all girls and more of aggressive and heavy metal.
