This past weekend, the Super Cross race was held in Birmingham, Alabama. The fastest lap time in qualifying for 450s went to Jett with a time of 52.777 seconds. He did not race in the first heat, but Chase Sexton was the rider that got first place. In the second heat race, Jett placed second, and Eli Tomac in first. Lawerence was just over a second behind Tomac at the end of the heat.
When the main even came, Jett was not messing around. Right as the gate dropped he went full throttle and came out with the hole shot. There was a close and tight pack of the veteran riders behind him fighting for the lead. Ken Roczen, Cooper Webb, Chase Sexton, and Eli Tomac were all following closely behind Lawrence. These riders were just not able to catch up to the rookie. Jett ended up leading all 23 laps and ended the race with almost a 3 second lead over Webb. Roczen finished in third, Sexton in fourth, and Justin Cooper in sixth.
This win was Jetts 4th win for the 2024 SX season. Lawrence is currently in the points lead as well. He has 185 points, Webb is in second with 172 points and Sexton is in fourth place with 165 points. It is a tight race for points and anything can change by the end of the season.
