Is TikTok getting banned? Over this past week The House of Representatives passed a bill that gives TikTok two choices. They said TikTok can either find a buyer for the app or face a nationwide ban in the United States. President Biden when getting asked about this ban in a recent interview said that he would sign the law, but only if it gets passed the Senate. If the bill ends up getting passed, it will be the first time Congress passed a law that could shut down a social media platform.
People who actually have the TikTok app are less supportive of banning it rather than the non-users. Around 19% of adult TikTokers say they are in favor of the ban of the app, and 60% of non-users are also in favor of the law. Could this be beneficial to our society or will it cause a nationwide downfall in businesses and employers throughout America?
