System of a Down is an American Armenian heavy metal band whom was founded in Glendale, California in 1994. The band has had members Serj Tankian vocal, Daron Malakian guitar and vocals, Shavo Odadjian bass, and John Dolmayan since the year 1997. They have released five studio albums, along with getting number one on the US Billboard 200. SOAD has been nominated for 4 Grammys total. They have sold over 12 million records worldwide.
They haven’t released a new record since year 2005. They have only released singles in 2020. SOAD saw The Band Slayer as their musical hero. They are inspired by many artists. All of the members in this band, are Armenian immigrants. System of a Down’s music would be described as, progressive metal, heavy metal, nu metal and thrash metal.
