At only 20 years old, the already impressive 450 rookie has added another title win to his collection. Jett was only the third rider ever to win the Championship during their rookie season. He also brought Honda their second-consecutive premier class SX title, and 17th overall. Lawrence now has won 7 AMA Championships in a row.
Jett Lawrence was awarded with the AMA 450SX Rookie of the Year award. He ended the race in a steady seventh place, still being able to secure the final points lead. After the race, the Champ said, “We just had to bring it in with the points we needed. It’s definitely a dream come true.” Jett has won every championship which he has competed in.
Lawrence and his team will now continue to practice and train to get ready for the AMA Pro Motocross series. That will kick off on May 25, in Pala, California at Fox Raceway.
