The kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs of the national football league delivered a speech at the graduation of Benedictine College on Saturday May 11th. His speech has caused many people across America to go crazy because of harsh comments towards women and pride month. Butker went on to say in his speech that some women may go on to lead successful careers, but the majority are most excited about marriage and the children we will bring into the world. Harrison then goes on to talk about his wife Isabelle and says, “I can tell you that her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.” Then continues to say she embraced “one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker.” People are mostly mad at the fact that he told a class of college graduates that one of the “most important” job a women can hold in life is a homemaker. In addition, he then goes on a says that pride month is a “deadly sin” and degrades diversity and equality. Harrison has since been facing waves of backlash since the speech on Saturday.
