A malnourished sea lion pup joined the ride with a UCLA rower’s boat, which caught many bu surprise. The UCLA sophomore Logan Hibbard said the sea lion suddenly jumped in the boat with her while she was practicing on the Marina del Ray. Hibbard remained calm while her teammates took photos of this interaction. The team named the sea lion “Bru” for the UCLA Bruins. They then later called the Marine Mammal Care Center in Los Angeles and Bru was taken care of.
