If you have ParentSquare, you would see that Elizabeth Cortez posted this…
Which has had some people questioning, are we able to keep our laptops or even buy them? In this post here, it doesn’t state that, but rather the oppostite. That we need to return the laptops and if we don’t, then it’s a $130 fee. But in all the past years, they’ve been sold for around $20 or more. Which I can completely understand… why would the school want to take our laptops that we’ve used for the past 4 years? I wouldn’t think so. So out of my curiousness, I emailed the person who sent out the email/post, Elizabeth Cortez.
She responded fairly quick and cleared the air for us. Contradictory to what the news post says, Seniors can purchase their laptops for $25. She didn’t say anything about chargers, but I assume that it would be the same for the charger as well. Which is great, it’s a good way for the school to give their students that are leaving an introduction to college, a material that will be essential to their success in college. I also think that most people’s laptops have been through it, which is why I had high doubt that they would want to just have the students return it.
