They chose “Linkin Park” because Chester used to drive by Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, CA after practice and it grabbed his attention. The guys in the band liked how it sounded. They changed the spelling so that they could buy the domain, since lincolnpark.com was already taken and was too expensive to buy. Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. They were too anthemic to be fully metal or too hip-hop to be rock, and too emo and mainstream to be “cool,” at least as far as what was considered cool among my peers. Theirs was a profoundly relatable music that flipped the script on what it was supposed to be.
