Using makeup is a lot of people’s favorite hobby. Getting to know your makeup style and brands can be tricky, but once you get them down, you will understand the fun and beauty that comes out of it. Certain brands go well with certain skin types, as does certain formulas go well with the same formulas. Many people do not know that water based products go well with only water based products, and that goes the same for silicone and oil based products as well. Getting this down will help your base form together perfectly and make your makeup lay on your face with less texture and less mess. Now, onto your skin shade. Skin shade differs and varies from each brand to each undertone. Undertone can be hard to differentiate. To check, look down at your veins on your hand or arm and try to see if they are either blue or purpleish, green, or skin toned. If you have blue or purplish veins, then you have cool toned skin and should be using cool toned shades. If you have green veins, you are warm toned and should be using warm toned shades. If they are skin toned, then you are neutral and should be getting neutral shades. Now that you know your bases and your skin shade to match your skin tone, let’s try to find the formula for our skin. If you have acne prone, combination, or oil skin, then a water or silicone based makeup product will work best for you. If you have dry skin, oil based products will work best to fit your skin. Now what I did not tell you about matching your shade is that you can either match the shade to your neck to make everything blend seamlessly, or you can match your makeup to your face if you like to spot conceal and get to certain areas only. These hacks should help you with your base and help your makeup routine out a bit more.
