Well, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, and you need ideas for your friends, boyfriend, girlfriend, or partner. I got you! I’ve been told I’m the queen of crafting, so let’s make something special!
I think making something by hand is better than buying it because you take time out of your day to create something for that person, which makes them feel more important or special.
First on the list: is a clay sculpture of them as an animal or in their likeness. There are lots of types of clay you can use, like air-dry clay or polymer clay. My favorite is foam air-dry clay—it dries light and faster than regular clay. But if you’re trying to finish the project within a day, try oven-bake polymer clay. My recommended clays are high quality and will last you a while. The first runner-up for foam clay is Delight Foam Clay. You can find it at Hobby Lobby or Amazon, but it’s cheaper at Hobby Lobby. For regular air-dry clay, I recommend Sculpey. Both of these are types of air-dry foam clay and should not be forced to dry in the oven. Putting them in the oven will cause them to crack. For oven-bake clay, I recommend Sculpey Oven-Bake Clay. You can buy individual pieces, but they cost around $3–$4 each, so it’s better to buy a pack—it’s a better deal. Just be sure to follow the instructions for this clay!
IDEAS: Tic-tac-toe boards, Trinket Boxes, Miniature Figurines, Personalized Keychains, Coasters, Decorative Magnets, Ring or Jewelry Dishes, Photo Holders, Flower Vases, Candle Holders, Phone Stands, Name Plaques, Charms for Bracelets or Necklaces, bookmark Toppers, and Mini Plant Pots.
Second on the list: This is a simple and fun craft that anyone can make. All you need are pipe cleaners in any color of your choice! You can find them at Amazon, The Dollar Store, Target, or any craft store. Start by choosing the animal you want to create, whether it’s a dog, cat, bear, deer, bunny, or even flowers. Many tutorials on Pinterest are step-by-step.
