Should Local Schools Have Roller Hockey or Ice Hockey as a Sport?
Should roller hockey and hockey be more involved in Santa Maria California. Although many people think of hockey in the upper states such as Michigan, Montana, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Minnesota which is also known as “The State of Hockey,” Many think that hockey and a city that’s near a beach don’t mix too well but if Los Angeles can do it why can’t we? Even though it won’t be as famous as Football, Soccer, Volley ball, Swimming
and even Tennis it would be very fun to watch or play. Even if you have no experience skating or if you do, hockey would be very entertaining to this city and town even though there may not be much competition it would be a great choice for the schools to include. There’s many schools in California with hockey teams and yet we don’t have a single one in Santa Maria, even if it seems you can’t have ice here Roller Hockey would probably be the better option even if there’s no other schools with it, it’s very fun to play against each other even if its the same people over and over again and I personally think this would be a good idea for the schools here in our town Santa Maria California. Roller hockey and ice hockey is worth having in local schools as its conditioning is very difficult like football. You need good balance like soccer, you may need good reaction time like baseball, and even good hand-eye coordination like volleyball and you need strength like waterpolo. Speed, Strength, Stamina, Is what makes a sport a sport. Hockey gives you double that. If you played one season of hockey football will be easier stamina wise, baseball will be easier with reaction time at the faceoff, balance with soccer will be easier from the roller blades or ice skates, strength like waterpolo goes with powerful shots like the slap shot, your hand-eye coordination will be easier for volleyball, hockey is a sport that is all around that takes different strengths from different sports that are already included in the school systems hockey is just one to add that will help many in those different sports.
