Last Friday the Warriors played against Nipomo’s Titans in a warzone themed battle. Commotion from the other game still hung in the air after the large defeat of Santa Maria Highschool prior to the game. Righetti’s first home game in the football season brought in a large crowd of students, staff, and families. High expectations filled the air along with pride from the student section. As night fell the anticipated Varsity game started. Righetti’s strong defense in the beginning made it incredibly hard for the Titians to score. The student section erupted with roars of victory showcasing Warrior Pride. Righetti started off strong leading the Warriors 21-0 to the fourth quarter. Until a surprising comeback from the Titians in the fourth quarter absolutely demolishing the Warriors in a 7-minute swoop at the end of the last quarter. Boos echoed from the home side as Nipomo made their first touchdown in the fourth quarter. Cheers from Nipomo were barely heard as Righetti kept booing the Titans. Flag after flag Righetti was being dragged down at the end of the fourth quarter. Yet the student section persevered and continued to try and cheer on the warriors. The last seven minutes of the fourth quarter moved fast with Nipomo scoring a touchdown every few seconds. Eruption from the student section as they passed us by many. At the end of the night the Warriors took a great loss, losing 21-41. This knocked Righetti off the top ten of the CCAA (Central Coast Athletic Association). This Friday’s game will take place at Righetti on 9/5/25. Will Righetti redeem themselves as they face Lompoc on Friday? We will wait and see for the defeated players as they are still recovering from last Friday’s loss.
