Plumb was written and recorded by Jonatha Brooke with a band after she and her old partner split up and she kept making music. They went into real studios in New York and Massachusetts and tracked the songs with drums guitars and keys while Jonatha sang most of the parts herself. The producer and musicians helped shape the arrangements and capture Brooke’s voice so it sounded clear and natural. Brooke had to rethink how the songs worked now that she was singing alone instead of in a duo. The whole album came together after lots of takes and tweaking so the songs felt right and real.
