Jellyfishes album Split Milk was made by two main band members Andy and Roger writing songs together for a long time in Andy’s house and coming up with ideas every day. They spent months in big studios in Los Angeles recording the songs and adding lots of different instruments like strings brass and odd sounds to make it sound huge and rich. They worked with other producers and session players to help fill in parts like guitar and bass because one member had left the band. The recording took a long time because they wanted everything perfect so they kept fixing and layering parts until it sounded just right. In the end they mixed all the sounds together to make a pop rock record that was really produced and detailed.
