Homemade Cranberry Sauce

For the final recipe of the month, we’re finishing off with the side we all know and love; Cranberry Sauce.


What You Will Need: 

  • 4 cups of cranberries (rinsed)
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of water
  • 6 tablespoons of orange juice
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 inches of ginger (peeled and sliced into 3 pieces)
  • Orange zest (orange peel essence)
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix together cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, salt, orange zest and ginger pieces into a large pot
  2. Bring to boil and cook for about 10 minutes, or until all berries have fully burst
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for about 30 minutes
  4.  Remove ginger pieces and add cinnamon
  5. Blend the mixture thoroughly and refrigerate until ready for use
