Pumpkin Spice Donuts

Donut Ingredients 

1 ¾ cups of all purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder

½ teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of cinnamon 

½ teaspoon of nutmeg

⅓ cup of vegetable oil

½ cup of brown sugar

1 egg

1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla extract

¾ cup of canned pumpkin

½ cup of milk

 

Directions: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. 
  2. Butter/spray a donut pan with nonstick spray and set aside
  3. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and the spices together. Set the bowl aside. 
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together oil, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, pumpkin and milk. 
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the mixture and mix/stir until combined together into a batter. Do not mix more than that, or it will be over mixed. 
  6. Using a pastry bag or spoon, fill each donut cup in the donut pan with the batter. They should be fairly full but not at the top. Bake for 11-13 minutes, until donuts spring up when pressed on. 
  7. Turn the pan over and take the donuts out. Cool for a few minutes

 

Cinnamon-Sugar Coating Ingredients 

¼ cup of unsalted butter, melted

⅓ cup of sugar

½ tablespoon of cinnamon

 

Directions

  1. While the donuts are cooling, melt the butter in a bowl. 
  2. combine the sugar and cinnamon in a new bowl (not the one with the butter). 
  3. While donuts are warm, brush each donut with the melted butter and coat the donuts in the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
