Does writing about your feelings help?

Does writing about your feelings help?

My opinion: Yes, without a doubt. When I am feeling down I sometimes write down what bothers me/ what I am feeling. After, it feels like a load was taken off my shoulders. Not right away but eventually it does feel better. The very first time that I wrote something down I was extremely surprised that I felt better than I did five minutes before I wrote anything down.

I know for a fact that there are a ton of people who write in notebooks, diaries, any random piece of paper, carboard literally anything as long as they have something to write with on. They write about their day, they rant, they write down what bothers them, about their relationships, etc.

I’ve read before in an article that it helps deal with what your feeling and boosts your mood, helps relive some of the pressure you’re feeling. I do think that writing something down does help. It really helps me. So if you’re ever feeling down, write it down.
