2021 Still Frothy Surf Competition

Through September 25 and September 26 Still Frothy had a non-profit surf competition in Pismo Beach on the Northside of the pier. Still Frothy was created by a man from Hawaii named Walter Cerny. He was sponsored by Billabong and would help them plan surf events. Walter Cerny moved to the Central coast and wanted to have his own event on his local beach. There are many different divisions to compete in like like Boys division, girls division, Pro-Am, and the tow-at. In this years competition there were many great surfers. Some of the ones I saw were Austin Neumann, Joel Bishop, Jabe Swierkoki, Taj Lindblad, Cole Alves, Josh Kerr, and Sierra Kerr. Josh Kerr is Sierra Kerrs dad and they competed against each other in the tow-at which is when you get towed into a wave by a jetski and go super fast and try to get the biggest air on the wave. Sierra Kerr ended up competing in one of the boys events and won. My friend Finn was in the same heat as her and advanced to the next heat but didn’t advance after that. On the second day of the competition the girls competed. Sierra Kerr won and she donated all her cash prize to children in need.
