The University of Hawai’i at Mānoa was founded in 1907. It is located in Honolulu on the island of Oahu. It was founded under the Morrill Act as a land grant college of agriculture and mechanics. temporary quarters were located near Honolulus Thomas square later relocated to the Mānoa valley where the first permanent building was put in. This building is known today as Hawai’i Hall. The college started out very small and started expanding in 1920 and then became known as the university of Hawai’i. They then added in Arts and Sciences. This University has expanded greatly over the years and offers over 200 degree programs. 102 Bachelors programs, 89 Masters programs, and 57 Doctorate programs. University of Hawai’i at Mānoa is ranked in the top 1.5% in the world.
