Centuries ago in Salem, Massachusetts there were tons of accusations about witchcraft. Witchcraft is the act of a practice of magic that some people say isn’t real or is a myth. Between May 1692 till May 1693 there were more than 200 individuals accused of witchcraft. 3o people were found guilty in of which 19 of them were hung to death.

There has been rumors of witchcraft and witch trials for years upon years since then. Many iconic movies and other things have been based off of Salem and the witches it has possessed throughout time. About 78% of women were convicted of such witchcraft accusations.

There is a story from then in which is quite popular and one of the first known events of witchcraft. In January of 1692 Betty Parris and her cousin Abigail Williams had begun to twitch and oddly twist their bodies into strange shapes and positions. Betty’s father was frightened at the scene and since then this has been one of the first scenes of witchcraft in Salem.

Some iconic movies and shows like ‘American Horror Story: Coven’ and ‘Hocus Pocus’ were based off of it. Salem is one of the places known for witches. Since it’s October it’s time to watch spooky witch movies and learn knowledge about witches.
