Dia De Los Muertos

Briana Deras

The day of the dead is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drinks, and celebration. According to the tradition, the gates of heaven are open at midnight on October 31 for the deceased children and November 2nd is for adults that has passed away. I love that our school respects and embraces our culture and doing a rally Wednesday, Nov.2 to pay respect to all family members that has passed away. People also do Ofrendas to remember their family members and put Marigolds flowers and all their favorite foods and even “pan de muerto”.
