I always loved strawberry shortcakes, but when I make them there not the prettiest. But, I am going to show you how to make them homemade, you can use the Pillsbury Moist Supreme White Cake Mix if you don’t feel like making something homemade. (Classic strawberry shortcake recipe disclose)

Ingredients 

Filling 

1/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 packages (16 ounces) of Driscoll’s strawberries, hulled and quartered

2 cups heavy cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

Shortcakes 

10 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces plus more for pans

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 Tbsp. baking powder

1 Tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

1 3/4 cups heavy cream,

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease the inside of the 3 (8-inch) round cake pans with butter.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixer (you can use a whisk if you don’t own a Mixer machine).
  4. Add butter and pulse (or cut in with a pastry blender) until the mixture resembles coarse.
  5. Add heavy cream and pulse (or stir with a fork) just until moistened. Don’t over mix 
  6. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface
  7. Gather dough into a large ball and gently knead the unit smoothly, about 5 turns.
  8. Divide dough into 3 equal pieces
  9. Press each piece of dough into a prepared cake pan. spread dough to the edges and make it as smooth as possible.
  10. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden.
  11. Cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Filling and Assembly ‘

  1. Beat heavy Cream and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until soft peaks from
  2. Add sugar while beating and continue to beat just until stiff form.
  3. Place one cake layer on a serving plate
  4. Top evenly with another third of the strawberries
  5. Spread evenly with about one-third of the whipped cream
  6. place the second cake layer on top of the whipped cream
  7. Top evenly with another third of strawberries and whipped cream
  8. Place the final cake layer on top of the whipped cream
  9. Spread remaining whipped cream, leaving 1 1-inch border around the edges
  10. Top with reaming strawberries in the mound. serve immediately(The whipped cream will melt)
