Former Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason for a 12-year $325 million contract. In the Japanese league Yamamoto had a 1.82 ERA in 172 games which is insanely good. Yamamoto got his first spring training start he went 2 innings with 1 hit and 3 strikeouts. Pretty good for his first MLB start spring training or not. Dodgers plan to ease him into the new game slowly and hope he can become a trustworthy healthy arm for any future playoff pushes. Shohei Ohtani who the dodgers also signed this offseason plans to help him with the whole transition as he did the same in 2018 with the Angels.
