The US Women’s National Team will advance to the Concacaf Women’s World Cup after Sunday’s match against Colombia. The physical and heated match between these two countries drew six yellow cards as the match went on.
First goal was scored by team captain Lindsey Horan off a penalty kick after a Colombia defender fouled USA forward Alex Morgan. USA went on to score two more goals, one by Jenna Nighswonger and the other by Jaedyn Shaw. The final score was 3-0, leaving Colombia scoreless in both halves.
The USWNT semifinal game will occur on Wednesday, March 6th, against Canada.
