California, the area some of us reside on, the area where, one would assume, all Ernest Righetti high school students reside in. The land some overlook as we go on with our lives, was not always as we knew it, as its origins were of a different country, a part of Mexico once upon a time. Something I am sure many know, but today I am here to inform, the way America went to storm the Capital of Mexico and torn a chunk of its original form.
The Mexican-American War
Back when America was small, it had a dream to grow tall. As it dreamt to expand, that meant that land was a huge demand. As America developed, it came across a Mexico that was just enveloped. Mexico had a resolution, which was a mere step in its evolution. A weakened Mexico went on dispute with an America in a ambitious pursuit. America wanted a piece of the pie, but Mexico said no, they were fine. Then Mexico went into war with an America that wanted more. The Mexicans disorganized they went to attack, launching attacks hoping the Americans would retreat and go back. Unfortunately America saw that coming, and launched an attack that had them running. Eventually America had had them by the ropes, their capital taken, they had Mexico by the throat. America had what they once envisioned, but to annex all of Mexico was now a decision. However problems were to arise, if we took to much land as a prize. In the end, we took but a mere fraction and left Mexico to deal with their new faction. So that is the story of the land of which we stand, gotten by war and battles of the past we had to withstand.
