What are guinea pigs, guinea pigs are from South American within the Andes region. Guinea pigs come from the Caviidae family which is decedents of rodents in the southern region. This region contributes to Northen Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Modern-Peru, and Columbia.
Now to get to the main point. Why are guinea pigs so cool? Well to begin this guinea pigs are very socializing animals even to be recommended being in groups to not be alone (at least 2 or more). Guinea pigs also have decent lifespans living up to five to seven years if kept in care. Strange enough to add for a historical fun fact is that these guinea pigs were used as livestock or medicine since history before being domesticated around during 2,000-6,000BC. Their local food of guinea pig sadly, is called ‘Cuy’ being locally important for Andes region of medicine and rituals. Isn’t that surprising? Finally, this is why these guinea pigs are so cool it’s due to their fun history.
