Santa Maria has a annual strawberry festival that happens in April every year and is held at the Santa Maria fairgrounds on a weekend. The strawberry festival is very fun especially with friends. The admission is free to get in and its traditionally to start the spring season. There are quite a few attractions throughout the carnival like a pie eating contest, strawberry tasting ETC. There is always quite a bit of rides to try out. The Strawberry festival is also called the Strawberry festival because of that strawberries are the #1 agricultural product in the Santa Maria Valley.
