Imagine yourself walking down a beach covered in pure plastic; bottles, bags, wrappers instead of clean sand. This is becoming more common in many parts of the world. More often in cities, just because of the plastic cities are starting to ban single use plastics like straws. bags and utensils. The goal is to reduce pollution by reducing plastic, but is it a good solution?
Single use plastics are designed to be used once and then thrown away, an example of this is straws. Which is used in daily life now, it creates a huge amount of plastic waste and all of said waste ends up in landfills. When the plastic gets into landfills it ends up being thrown away into the ocean, harming sea animals such as sea turtles, fish and others. Just by choosing to ban these items (straws, bags) it can help a lot in the seawater, and the land as well.

Even though some people may not agree with throwing away plastic ones, they do have a good reason: they believe life will be more expensive. Businesses will have to spend more money on multiple use utensils. Customers might also forget to bring reusable bags which can become an inconvenience. People may argue that instead of banning plastics, people should focus on recycling more and using less instead of getting rid of. it is forever.
So. Do you think plastic bans are the right move? Or are they just a small step forward instead of a big one? Even if they can help reduce waste, it won’t completely fix the problem our world has: pollution. It gives us an important question, Should we change the rules, our habits or perhaps both?
