Originally announced in 2006 by Hideo Kojima, the Long Awaited Metal Gear Solid movie finally announced its lead actor, after years of getting pushed back. Director Jordan Vogt Roberts, best known for directing Kong: Skull Island, announced on December, 4th, 2020 that Actor Oscar Isaac, best known for his role as Poe Dameron, would be playing the movies lead role, Solid snake.

Although that’s all Roberts was willing to say about the film’s production and cast, part of his decision to cast Isaac in the movie could be attributed to an interview with Isaac two years earlier with Ign, where he expressed interest in playing the character. To which Vogt-Roberts responded on twitter that, “The Ball’s in Oscar’s Court”. The original Metal Gear Solid, of which the movie is said to be based on, originally released in September of 1998 for the Playstation 1, and was published by Konami. And in 2002, was ranked as the best Playstation game ever, while also winning awards for “Best Ending” and “Best Villain”. Currently, there is no set release date for the movie.
