The Great Gatsby by  F. Scott Fitzgerald is widely known as a classic, a must-read if you will. It is a tragic story about a man trying to obtain the American dream of wealth and falling in love, unfortunately with a girl he cannot have, but ultimately he fails and kills himself. Overall The Great Gatsby was an amazing book that I would recommend to any one of my friends. What makes this book so great is that the realness and relatability of it all. The narrator Nick, being an outsider in the world of the rich, can get an unbiased opinion of all the characters and tell the story without judgment. He is the perfect person to narrate the story. This book also features lots of symbolism which I enjoyed. There were a lot of small little details that you might miss and not realize are symbolism. This novel shows that the American dream is not all that it is cracked up to be and I think that is why so many people can relate. So many people from a young age are taught about an American dream that is just not obtainable. I feel like there is a lot of things people can learn from reading this book and think everyone should give it chance.
