Elden Ring is an open world very free-play game, you can do whatever you want in whatever order. Ragnarok is a story game focused on painting the picture of Kratos and Atreus’ story. They are both amazing games but Ragnarok came out so late in 2022 that it really wouldn’t count as game of the year for 2022 if it was barely out in 2022. While Elden Ring game out early 2022  and was all over the internet for 5 months straight. Even ring also has much more replay options with multiple endings. Ragnarok is a game where you play it once and wait for the next game. The gameplay for both is good but Elden ring has much better combat.
