How to Make Sopita (Easy!)

Savannah Vega, Writer

What is Sopita?

Sopita is a Mexican meal which includes small pasta mixed with tomato sauce and chicken broth. This meal is an easy, filling, delicious dish. It’s perfect when you’re craving something warm or you want extra texture. Sopita can also be served with steamed diced potatoes. If this sounds yummy to you, here are the directions!

This meal can be made with natural ingredients, but canned foods are perfect to use if you’re not into doing extra steps. That way is easier, so lets get started.

Ingredients needed

  • Choice of pasta (Options: Shells, Stars, Fideo, Alphabet)
  • Can of tomato sauce
  • Chicken broth
  • Salt
  • Chicken Bouillon
  • Vegetable oil

  1. Pour pasta into sauce pan with small amount of oil at medium flame
  2. Mix until pasta turns brown
  3. When brown, add small can of tomato sauce and mix
  4. Add plenty chicken broth until reaches near top of pan then mix
  5. Add small amount of salt and a spoonful of chicken bouillon
  6. Wait for a boil then lower flame and let sit with lid for 10 minutes
  7. Turn off flame and let sit until tastes ready to your liking

Extra Information

  • Sometimes while cooking add more broth if needed (You can tell when there’s rarely broth)
  • You can always add more seasoning to your liking
  • Fresh ingredients would include creating your own tomato sauce and adding onions
  • There aren’t exact food measurements because it’s better to observe while cooking and decide what needs to be added, since the final meal won’t turn out the same each time (Timing for everything is important!)
